Materials & Transparency

We love transparency, and believe it's important to educate you on the materials, and process we use to create our jewellery.
We work directly with manufacturers, allowing us to keep our prices low and learn exactly how our pieces are created.

This means you can feel confident and informed about your Martini Street purchase.

Gold Jewellery

Our gold jewellery is plated using advanced vacuum plating techniques (PVD), which enhances water resistance and reduces oxidation, ensuring your pieces stay looking luxe for longer.

This process also significantly improves the anti oxidation properties of our stainless steel jewellery, helping to maintain its colour and minimise tarnishing.

Durable & Hypoallergenic

Our PVD technique provides a highly durable, shiny finish that is resistant to scratches and wear, making our pieces perfect for daily use.

This technique is also hypoallergenic, making all of our pieces suitable for those girlies with sensitive skin.

Regular Plating vs PVD

PVD plating offers a much thicker and more durable coating. Unlike regular gold plating, which can wear off relatively quickly, PVD creates a thick layer that can be up to ten times the amount of typical plating. Your pieces will be waterproof, sweatproof and highly resistant to scratches and tarnishing.

Our PVD process also uses fewer hazardous chemicals and produces minimal waste compared to regular gold plating practices.

Sustainablity Journey

PVD stands out as a more conscious choice due to its minimal waste production compared to traditional plating methods. PVD is a dry coating technique, eliminating the need for chemical baths that generate waste in traditional electroplating. By operating in a controlled vacuum environment, PVD ensures more efficient material usage, with coatings applied precisely to minimise excess material and waste.

PVD also does not utilise many of the toxic chemicals found in traditional plating processes which require disposal procedures.

However, it's crucial to recognise that while PVD represents a step towards conscious production, industries like gold mining still have significant room for improvement in adopting more sustainable practices.

At our core, we believe in creating jewellery that lasts, pieces that become a part of your everyday life. We advocate for purchasing pieces that you'll truly enjoy and wear frequently, rather than one off purchases, promoting a more healthier approach to consumption.
